To your last question the answer relies in the facts. If the economy doesn't improve much faster in the remaining 4 years of Obama's term than it did in the first 4 years, then we'll know. I'm just glad to be retired and hoping inflation doesn't hurt me too much.

They’re probably not trying to, no. But with the current governing philosophy in Washington, a recession has become an acceptable means to a necessary end. And the intended “end” doesn’t necessarily entail economic growth and prosperity.
