Interesting. There is of course no evidence to your assertion that liberals are more educated, and thus smarter, than conservatives, but it does fit right in with the notion that liberals seem to have that they are just more advanced and enlightened (in other words, more arrogant). I'm also curious by what you mean by being on the side of 'progress.' Exactly what do you define as progress? And as far as reason and intelligent debate are concerned, I do believe that you have lost your mind if you somehow think that liberals are more prone to engaging in such debate. I believe the left has written the book on how to completely silence any opinion that deviates from their own, and with good reason - in most cases they don't have any...

Sheer ignorance.

Journolist and the Ackerman Question

I am a conservative, but I have to object to that kind of a generalization. I get completely POed when I read a liberal remark such as "Repubs lie constantly; it's in their DNA." Neither of these statements is true, and serve to do no more than continue to make others want to play to the lowest common denominator and respond in kind. It has to stop somewhere. One's ideology does not dictate one's truthfulness. Until we can start to have more honest debate in this country, we are screwed.

Open Conspiracy is No Longer Merely Ajar

You would be singing a different tune if this story were about conservative journalists willing to lodge random charges of racism at liberal journalists.
I certainly wouldn't advocate removing Coburn from office and I personally will continue to cast my vote for him unless something much more substantive than this column comes to light. I will also point out, however, that there is no chance of a Democrat getting elected to either of Oklahoma's seats in the Senate. We have only one Democrat in all of Congress, that being Dan Boren (in the House), and even he was smart enough to vote against the recent healthcare legislation, otherwise he would have been looking for a new job in 2011. He may anyway, but at least he made it less certain.
For those of you calling for Senator Coburn to be thrown out of office, all I can say is that clearly you don't follow politics too closely. Tom Coburn and Jim Inhofe, who very ably represent the great state of Oklahoma, are two of the biggest opponents to Obama, Pelosi, Reid and their radical agenda. They are exactly the kind of people we need in office to stop the radical left from hijacking our country. I can't explain Senator Coburn's comments about Pelosi, but I know that anyone that Senator Reid has said that he "hates" is someone that we need in office. Tom Coburn has the character and courage to stand up to Pelosi and Reid and for that they have made him public enemy number one. That's good enough in my book.
I am from Oklahoma and quite proud of our representation in the Senate. However, I was a little disappointed with Senator Coburn's remarks. I appreciate his attempts to remain civil in the midst of this debate, however I also believe that the stakes are far too high to place the appearance of civility above simply telling it like it is. This is a struggle between two competing ideologies that will shape the future of this country, and Nancy Pelosi is a great threat to our freedom and way of life. I don't know her personally, but from my perspective she is deceitful, arrogant, conniving, untrustworthy, and will do anything she can (legal and otherwise) to advance her vision (and by proxy Obama's) of what this country should be. If...

Dads and Coaching

Been coaching my son's baseball team for the last 6 years, and what an experience it has been. It has brought me closer to my son, but also given me a chance to build relationships with another 15-20 young men and their families. I've been very blessed in the quality of people I've worked with in this endeavour, for which I try to thank God as often as I can. It's not always easy (or inexpensive), but I recommend it to anyone considering coaching or any other opportunity to get involved with our youth, who in this day and age and in this insane culture, need all of the sage wisdom and guidance that we can give them. God bless everyone that volunteers their time and energy to help others.

Why Obama Should Decline the 'Prize'

is reacting to what he sees as an ideology, which is that practiced by our current president and his minions in Congress, that is a threat to our country's prosperity. I happen to agree with him, and given the reaction he has elicited from the left, there must be some truth to what he is saying.
