Unfortunately, I believe you are correct. The levels of apathy keep rising along with the number of highly educated college kids that think they have all the answers but do not know the questions pretty much assure that this will pass into obscurity.

The same could be said about a lot of the immigrants coming to America. They supposedly come here for opportunity but instead of assimulating, stay within enclaves and want to create a little version of the place they just fled from. They complain about America while taking all the freebies that taxpayers offer. Guess who many of those taxpayers keep electing.

Well, the millennials voted for the leader of the pols who passed Obamacare so what exactly did they expect. There is no free lunch. Somebody always pays.

If you want more of something,subsidize it. We have subsidized poverty, unemployment, disability, and big government and increased more of them. There is a big difference between helping people up and enabling them to stay comfortably on the bottom. Compassion needs to be tempered with common sense. A parent's primary responsibility is to raise their child to be independent. The politician's are not parents of the nation if they continue to increase dependence and waste our nation's resources.

I guess voting for Obama is like losing your virginity. We knoe how that happens.

I have often thought that when judges decree that criminals, particularly violent criminals, have to be released, a bus delivering them to the judge's front door would be appropriate.

Is that 17.4 percent for those that actually pay taxes. Since almost half the population does not pay any income tax, maybe that is an average or a median which really doubles the tax rate on those who do pay. Then there is Social Security Tax, Medicare tax,sales tax, property tax, not to mention lecense fees, document fees, and any number of othr taxes. Are these included? As my Dad used to say, " Figures lie and liars figure".
