Leno's Law: Extra Parent Could Split Baby More Ways

What is the problem, for a child to be conceived it requires a male for the sperm and a female for the egg; in other words, heterosexual sexual activity or at least a turkey baster. All this law does is confuse the child and moves society further left where as Hillary Clinton said, "It takes a village to raise a child". Now being in California this will be an issue - what happens if a child is conceived in an orgy where the mother slept with more than a dozen men that night. Are they all parents of the child? What if they lived in a commun where there was free sex and a hundred men lived in the commun, are they all named fathers? When it comes to child support I can guarantee that the courts wlll rule that there is one Dad and he pays.

Richard, I also believe that it takes a village to raise a child--and think that Billary Binton didn't know what she was saying.

I lived in a non-Western country for a number of years, in a small town which was, in most ways, an overgrown village with most people knowing most people. When a kid acted up in a group I was tutoring in English, his father sought me out to apologize to my face. People are raised to be ashamed of making their extended family look bad, and I'm not absolutely sure I'm against that.

Even in small-town America in the '50's, we had neighbors and parents of friends who were not reluctant to chastise us when we did wrong in public--and we knew they would let OUR parents know of the infraction. Kept us on a short leash, knowing that we were responsible for our actions at home, and away. Personal responsibility is abundantly missing today; and, IMO, that learning experience is how individuals gain "common sense."

Remember that many Muslims and other cultures invest their family's honor in the sexual imprisonment of their female members. A non-Muslim boyfriend, even a refusal to be mummified and veiled results in the extended family "looking bad" to cultural peers as primitive as they are and the family "solution" is the badly misnamed "honor killing" of their own wife, sister or daughter. (Strange how nothing the male does, adultery, cheating, stealing, vandalism requires killing him to restore honor to the family). Mainly muslims have brought this barbaric custom with them to every Western country. Beware of "shame" cultures.
State Sen. Mark Leno wants California to recognize that a child can have "more than two legal parents." So he wrote a bill, SB 1476, which, he argues, wouldn't change the definition of a parent -- for example, live-in lovers would not qualify -- but would allow family court to recognize more than two parents only "when it is required to be in the best interest of the child." He stresses that if the bill becomes law, "none of our sponsors or supporters believe that this authority will be used very often."

SB 1476 is for rare cases, Leno argues, like that...
