My brother-in-law played with my wife’s dolls when they were kids. He stuffed them with firecrackers and blew the heck out of them. So much for playing with dolls. And by the way he didn’t become a serial killer, he became a LEO. Real women and their children want a man around that they feel can and will protect AND love them. Not some emotionally confused Oprah watching pansy.

My son begged for a "My Buddy" doll from the TV commercials; so being an 'open-minded' parent, I said okay--with some trepidation. No problem; his "Buddy" was immediately sent flying into the air, only to be socked in the face on the way down... And, yeah; he's a firefighter/paramedic now.

This past week an episode of Sesame Street set off a firestorm of debate over whether a boy muppet named Telly should be ashamed that his muppet friends caught him playing with dolls.

In one corner "traditionalists" who called out the episode as gender and sex confused. In the other "modern feminists" who were offended by almost everything the traditionalists said and believe.

In light of these op-eds and arguments I decided to do a bit of personal surveying for myself.
