Some superb points here as there always are in your articles Paul, but in line with what digby was saying below, you miss the point that we are in the early stages of another inter-cultural war - in fact, the argument could be made that it's just an extension of the the ones initiated by Tamerlane in the 13-1400's. There is no appeasement anymore,nor is there a return to pre-intifada conditions. There is now only conquest, whether it be now or within twenty years. It is unavoidable.

At first, anybody who recognized the murderous assault on the American consulate in Benghazi as a terrorist attack didn't know what he was talking about. It was just the result of a spontaneous demonstration that got out of hand. It was all the fault of a shadowy little video that had taken the Prophet Mohammed's name in vain.
