Find a group to demonize (high earners, cigar smokers) than tell the sheeple that they need to be taxed outrageously. They then do less of that which is taxed and the idiot political class can't understand why they don't have all that extra money to play with. News flash for politicians- cigar smokers are not addicted to tobacco so they will simply stop smoking cigars and find a cheaper diversion. Many jobs will be lost but hey, these are liberals who don't care about private sector jobs. It's amazing how stupid they are.

A group of Democrat senators, none of whom are particularly friendly to law-abiding consumers, have introduced a bill (S.174) that would hike taxes by as much as 1,121 percent on some tobacco products. According to feisty New Jersey Senator Frank Lautenberg, who will be a nonagenarian next year, the bill is necessary because some tobacco companies are “gaming the system.”
