I was a student at Columbia in 1970--and the SDS (s small group) occupied President Kirk's office. That soft head invited them in and they trashed the doctoral theses being held there. By contrast, the president of my undergraduate school (a concentration camp survivor) told the huge SDS crowd coming right at him "get to your classes, or you will be expelled." They scattered.
