Liberals/progressives always use the excuse that the ends justify the means, just as in the Robin Hood Legend.

What they are missing is Robin Hood was more of a freedom fighter than a thief. He was fighting against a opressive goverment that was taxing its people into submission. He wasn't stealing from the rich, he was taking back what was rightfully the peoples wealth and giving it back to them.
