Megalomania as dialectic. This will be an excruciating four years.

Audi's Gorewellian Super Bowl Ad

As an A3 TDI owner I laughed at the commercial. I bought my Audi because of the fuel economy and performance it offered. If the sad little green-weenies want to believe I bought an Audi to serve their misguided beliefs, why should I care? For me, the overall tone was one of mockery and not capitulation to eco-facsism. The Green Police, as portrayed, were indeed violently sanctimonious creeps; definitely not flattering.

The source for my "garbage" is called a dictionary. Commonwealth; noun; 1. The people of a nation or state; the body politic. 2. A nation or state governed by the people; a republic. Try reading a book. Start with The Republic of Republics by Bernard Janin Sage. My intent was to answer sceptyczny's statement that combining our taxes to build roads was a form of small "s" socialism. It is not. No more than combining our money to provide for the common defense is socialism. Enlightened self-interest compels you join with others to create those elements of a robust society we require in common but cannot provide for ourselves individually.

Combining individual wealth to advance the common good (commonwealth?) is not by definition socialism. Commonwealth is a traditional English term for a political community founded for the common good or in which all participants have equal standing. Historically, it has sometimes been synonymous with "republic".
