I'm sure it does. His attempts to steer the public's demand to renewables is behind Chu's infamous idea that gas prices need to go up to European levels. He wants the country running on photoelectricity and wind power and he wants that to power automobiles. Well, fine: when the public demands all that and industry strives to satisfy the demand from the free market, they'll happen. Until then, no amount of pie-in-the-sky government promise-and-threat package will bring it about.

I don't think he really wants to destroy America; he's just so full of his own narcissism, convinced that the only reason the country has rallied behind all his ideas is that he hasn't "communicated well" (read: we're all too stooopid to recognize the genius behind them) and convinced that there's nothing that enough government spending can't accomplish, and his self-absorption is so blinding that he is incapable of recognizing the plain evidence that his way isn't working.

If there was any doubt from skeptics about the complicity of the Obama administration in creating and directing the “new” General Motors –a.k.a Government Motors- the latest ballyhoo regarding sales figures and the Chevy Volt should convince even the doubters.

GM Expects Volt Sales to Set Monthly Record says the normally sane Wall Street Journal.

Chevy Volt broke monthly sales record in August reports the Associated Press.
