Obamacare Jiujitsu

It's noteworthy that this president has not one, but two unyielding passions that involve miniscule amounts of money but a lot of non-fiscal harm. One is the incessant demand for hiking marginal rates for the wealthy, and this is the other, the mandatory providing of contraceptives and abortifacients. In the latter case, the monthly cost to women who choose to obtain them is, maybe ten bucks or so. The hikes in the top marginal tax rates will, at best, bring in a pittance when compared to the deficits they're supposed to help correct. Why should the president dig in his heels so obstinately for two things that have such minimal fiscal importance? It's political. Both of these inflict severe blows upon important and cherished values.

In the one case, it is designed to fracture the Republican party,. not only between the conservatives and moderates, but as we see now, even among the conservatives. He wants to break the back of the Tea Party, make those who took the Norquist pledge break it, and destroy the successful foundations established under Reagan and the Contract with America, which had as much, or more to do with Clinton's surpluses than anything he did.

In the other case, it reflects his scorn for "guns and religion," as he put it, in this case the latter, imposing pressure and penalties on many who won't turn their backs on their faith.

That's Obama's "transformation" for you. He's a destroyer and a despot.

Agreed, and I would go further, in that he seems to hate the people that abandoned the failing cities for suburbia (white flight). Why the cities failed is never addressed, and with the case of Detroit like the proverbial 800 pound gorilla in the room, no Democrat seems to notice, or own how that city was brought to ruin. Nothing Democrats do will attract the monied and educated back to Detroit, yet they will not learn, and just point fingers, and find a scapegoat. Religionists, really.

The art of jiujitsu is to use an opponent's weight and strength to your advantage. I believe we can further choke the life out of Obamacare by using this martial art technique. Let me explain.

Last week, I shared with you that while Republicans' power to repeal Obamacare has been thwarted by the president's re-election, all is not lost. Conservatives can still suffocate the federal monstrosity by supporting individual-to-state efforts to impede its funding and implementation.

I noted how, just two weeks ago, the U.S. Supreme Court ordered a lower federal court to take up a lawsuit by the patriots at...
