10 Facts for Liberals: Why Gun Control Can't Stop Another Newtown Massacre

Amy, your logic is too simple.... 1. If these types of weapons were not available (both banned and made illegal) it would be harder (not impossible) to access them. 2. I have no idea the nuts & bolts of using these or other types of oddball weapons are effective as his weapon. Very difficult to kill 26 people with a speeding car. 3. Lastly, not all mentally ill people are dangerous and it is impossible to predict who will carry out a mass killing. So, the most sensible measure is gun control. Amy, do you know why I'm not going to jump on my private jet this weekend? Because, I don't have one. Do you know why I'm not going to shoot anyone this weekend? Because I don't have a gun.

rgrasso,it appears you can't or won't change your opinion despite the overwhelming evidence and data presented to you.

rgrasso,you don't make sense;
you admit that despite gun control,these guns will still be available,they must be restricted despite that being unconstitutional,and you reject proven,practical methods of STOPPING a mass shooter once they begin,and you completely ignore the deterrent effect of having armed citizens.
EVERY one of these mass murderers were rational enough to have selected GUN FREE zones for their massacres,not any place that might have armed ODCs.
And most of them DID NOT use "assault weapons". Most of them used ordinary handguns.
You SURE are not going to get any semi-auto HANDGUN ban passed.No way,no how.

Rgrasso,

You must be another one of those who will only be satified when we give you the last digit of Pi!

If frogs had wings, you would still ask what if questions and not accept the answers!

There are now calls from the Left for gun control legislation in response to Adam Lanza's unconscionable mass killing of innocent children at Sandy Hook Elementary. However, very few people seem to be asking the most basic question of all before getting started: What gun control legislation could have stopped Adam Lanza?

The answer is "none."

Let's consider a few alternatives:

1) The school was already a "gun free zone;" so obviously that wasn't effective. Of course, the sort of people who would respect a "gun free zone" in the first place are the very ones you wouldn't have to worry...
