And its not just about the inherent value of something.. if. during 1970s China, you were to go to a public place and take a picture of Mao off the wall and cut it up with scissors, are you saying you'd get no reaction? The picture probably is only worth a dime or two, and the frame maybe another 30 cents..

Things aren't as mindlessly simple as you are painting them.. not by a country mile. We live in a world filled with symbols. And those symbols carry REAL meaning.

Florida Atlantic University has issued an apology for a classroom assignment that involving students writing the name “Jesus” on a sheet of paper and then stomping on the paper. The university also said the lesson will never again be used.

“We sincerely apologize for any offense this has caused,” the university said in a prepared statement. “Florida Atlantic University respects all religions and welcomes people of all faiths, backgrounds and beliefs.”

The university initially defended the Christ-bashing lesson which is included textbook titled, “Intercultural Communication: A Contextual Approach, 5th Edition.”
