History shows us that the Natural History of ALL immigrant groups is basically the same, regardles of country of origin: First generation (the ones who came her as adults): Will retain the language and the customs of their homeland. Many will never learn English, and the ones who do still will prefer to use their native language. Second generation: will speak English as their First language and many will speak their parents language as well. Their culture will be a mix of American and their parent's. Third generation: Fully Americanized, mono-lingual. Speaking English ONLY (like most Americans). Will have only a rudimentary (at best) knowledge of the culture
