ot every “gay” man – self-identified or otherwise – is a pedophile, but studies indicate that homosexual assaults against boys occur at an alarmingly disproportionate rate when compared to heterosexual assaults. The very act of a man molesting a boy unquestionably involves both same-sex attraction and homosexual behavior (a “gay” by any other name…). Consider, for instance, a study published in the Archives of Sexual Behavior, of over 200 convicted pedophiles. It found that “86 percent of offenders against males described themselves as homosexual or bisexual.” This demonstrates, as noted by Peter Sprigg of the Family Research Council, that “homosexual or bisexual men are approximately 10 times more likely to molest children than heterosexu

"The very act of a man molesting a boy unquestionably involves both same-sex attraction"

Not necessarily, as odd as it may sound. I'm not sure what motivates a non-homosexual man to molest a boy (the only case I know details of involves the man thinking it would hurt a boy less than a girl), but it does happen.

Of course, that doesn't do anything to change the fact that those having same-sex attractions are FAR more likely to molest. The fact that SOME same-sex molestations don't involve definite same-sex attractions gets exaggerated by the "gays are like everyone else" people into "MOST same-sex molestations (etc.)," which is NOT true.

"Same sex abuse, isn't between gay men and boys, but men abusing someone weaker... Hetero males abuse other males they believe are weak (and typically will abuse a boy they perceive as gay because gay males are considered weak). That's what prison rape is about. Not homosexuality, but alpha male dominance."

It turns out that du2 had answered part of my question, as quoted above. Unfortunately he takes a basically true point and uses it to support a false one -- i.e., that those having same-sex attractions are no more likely to molest. The fact is, the reasons for sexual abuse by non-homosexuals do nothing to change the reality of homosexual sexual abuse.

molest children than heterosexual men.”
No loving, self-respecting father in his right mind would leave his son in the care of – allow him to go camping with – an “out and proud” man whose very identity is somehow defined by the fact that he craves sex with other males.

Citing cases in which NAMBLA (North American Boy Love Association) members have been convicted of sexual offenses against children, Larry Frisoli, the attorney representing the Curleys, argued that it is a "training ground" for adults who wish to seduce children, in which men exchange strategies on how to find and groom child sex partners. Frisoli also claimed that NAMBLA has sold at its website what he called "The Rape and Escape Manual" that detailed how to avoid being ca

Coach, my Son was in the Scouts and when he went out on hikes and such, I always told him that NO one was allowed to put their hands on him in an in appropriate way. I would not want my only Child to lead by some flamer, I do not think that they are good role models.

I don't think prejudiced, ignorant men who are cowardly are good role models. Men who support double standards, perpetuate stereotypes and bigotry based on archaic and unnatural hostility and distrust of gay people is a LOT more dangerous than gay people could ever be.
These comments are loaded with dangerous ignorance about sex abuse, and how predators harm those who they think are weaker. Gender and sexual orientation has nothing to do with it.
They prey on the WEAK.
And why you'd go along with the most ignorant in this, instead of the more informed and experienced says a lot about you and what you're willing to teach your son.

Boy Scouts learn to start fires by rubbing two sticks together. Now, the national Scout leadership is playing with fire. Scratch that; they’re playing with explosives.

Under consideration for a vote during a Feb. 4th to 6th board of directors meeting is a rules change that would overturn the Scouts’ ban on openly homosexual members and leaders.

A press release on Jan. 28 by Scouts spokesman Deron Smith said, “This would mean there would no longer be any national policy regarding sexual orientation, but that the chartered organizations that oversee and deliver Scouting would accept membership and select leaders consistent with...
