It is heartwarming to see so many people trying to support the families in Newtown. But,I must say that most of the gifts, candles, flowers and wreaths are all simply- "symbolism over substance". The tragedy has happened. It was horrific! Now look for and deal with the reasons! Evil is out roaming all around us. Much of it is found in the culture of- "Do your own thing", "If it feels good do it"or "There are no absolutes" The movies of Hollywood, violent video games, criminal entertainment TV,and yes,rap music- available for the youngest to watch and experience-all contribute mightily to the culture of immorality and acceptance of criminal acts! Then we have those in the shadows that slink around on their own,un-noticed,or at least they are e

The Left love to create problems and then offer themselves as the solutions to the problems they created.

It is intentional.

For example, the left are running ads in California saying we need to make our schools great again, and imply this will come about by more and more tax money. The heck with that! Go back to the educational practices of the 1950s! They would scoff at that, I can tell you in advance.

endured in their odd sick mentalities!

Finally we try to blame the weapon (of which there are millions) and rarely take a hard look at the person's behavior and attitudes about right and wrong and good and evil!

Instead of focusing on the environment of violence, liberals are focusing on the instrument, and the cause of violent crime isn't gun policy--it's family policy!

There are ABSOLUTES and good and right morals! They are based on a loving God who created this universe and set down the laws for proper living in a civilized society! When people know that there is punishment for evil and immoral acts- they make the effort to resist those acts. If they have no standard values and beliefs in a God who will punish those acts-we have horrific criminal tragedies!

The first actions that families, members of the community, and the general public engendered were to seek God's comfort and solace with their prayers. Would that more of them had been asking for God's support, guidance and direction and lived His values in their everyday lives.

Hollywood will never be "reprimanded" by 0bama. Never, ever, thats where a lot of his money and support comes from. He owes them big time.

Ret. Coach-I certainly AGREE with your 3 posts; I can/DO particularly agree with your emphasis on "it's family policy" as an all important factor in Family Welfare! I raised a Family (60s-70s) as a member of the Military, usually living in "Govt Housing" where very low tolerance of unruly living habits was a rule of thumb; My Dependents subscribed to those conditions and we all had a pretty good life-style. Putting a "#9 boot in a #6 rear" as a reminder of who was in charge would not be tolerated Nowadays but it worked just fine then!

The "boot treatment" is analogy only-but the kinder knew what we expected!

The president of the United States will release a binder full of new gun-control executive orders on Wednesday. Instead of standing alone, bearing full responsibility for the imperial actions he is about to take, President Obama will surround himself with an audience of kids who wrote to him after the Newtown, Conn., school massacre. This is the most cynical in Beltway theatrical staging -- a feckless attempt to invoke "For the Children" immunity by hiding behind them.

What has happened to the deliberative process in this country? Public debate in Washington has deteriorated into Sesame Street sing-a-longs. We are already inundated...
