less than one percent of rapes result in a pregnancy last year there were 84,000 rapes reported to the FBI criminal database less than 1% would be less than 840 possibilities of a pregnancy but there were 1.2 Million abortions So if the there are more than 840 abortions performed on rape victims then why aren't the abortionist required to report these incidences to the police. If every gunshot victim has to be reported to the police (even those a victim of their own stupidity) by the medical staff treating them then why would women, as the victims of violent crime perpetrated by others, be denied these same protections under the law.

there's only about 150 million women in the US and I have no idea of how many are in the age group that CAN get pregnant,so 1.2 million abortions per year in the US seems absurd.
Plus, there are not that many abortion doctors and clinics in the US,so they'd have to be booked solid for years.
Your numbers seem to be in gross error.

No, according to scientific research, about 5% of rapes result in pregnancy.

And no rape victim should have to make the effort to carry her rapist's child as if she had wanted it. She can't just sit watching TV. She has to do prenatal care, ultrasounds, buy maternity clothes at her own expense, go through labor, even risk her own life in a difficult pregnancy. All because she was raped.

That's pretty creepy. It reminds me of the scene in "Alien" where the baby alien comes bursting out of the guy's abdomen.

oopps sorry I need to offer a correction

there were 84,000 sexual assaults......not all of them resulted in rape, not all of them were v a g i n a l rape, not all them happened to women

so 840 would be beyond the max possible pregnancies that could occur

to justify 1.2 Million abortions?

noting more than emotional blackmail

Where are you going with this?

Liberal pundits are declaring they have no idea what Rep. Todd Akin (R-MO) meant when he referred to “legitimate rape” in an interview this past week. Akin stated, "In cases of legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down." It was an awkward, inarticulate statement, but the substance of it was correct. Explaining what he meant since then would be a bit crude, so he has not been able to adequately defend himself. His attackers have used the awkwardness to pounce on him and pretend they don't know what he meant, or
