Ever notice how this country's government is looking more and more like Russia's? A one-party regime evolving toward totalitarianism on a solid political base of corruption and lies, backed up by uncritical mass media, while maintaining token opposition parties for the imitation of democracy. The token opposition in the legislature knows its place, and knows when to shut up and roll over.

Actually, Putin's attitude toward free enterprise is quite similar to Obama's, and both are quite similar to the attitude of the classical U.S. gangster organizations: Pay for protection, keep your mouth shut, don't try anything, and we'll maybe let you stay in business.
While Sens. John McCain and Lindsey Graham have been vocal and fierce critics of the Obama Administration and U.N. Susan Rice's handling of the terrorist attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, there are indicators that Republicans are softening their criticism as speculation swirls that Rice will be nominated for Secretary of State.

According to congressional aides and administration officials, Rice will be making the rounds on Capitol Hill this week for closed door meetings with key lawmakers whose support she will need to be confirmed... A senior Senate aide said the administration was trying to measure...
