As a loyal flack for the Establishment, Benson reflects the party view on global warming: To oppose job-killing measures, it is unnecessary and politically risky to question the BS behind "fighting climate change" when you can get by simply by blaming other countries for making it ineffective.
"Nobody gets to “sidestep” the Constitution for any reason except the People’s right to Revolution*i That revolution has already taken place, very quietly over the last 80 years in particular, as the people have allowed the government to escape from almost all the restraints on its power imposed by the Constitution.
If the Senate has not approved it, it is not a treaty. Which does not, of course, prevent Obama from pretending that it is.
There are countless intergovernmental agreements that exist at various levels of the bureaucracy and have validity only as long as the agreeing departments choose to follow them. They are different from treaties in that they have no force of law and cannot conflict with any law. Obama, however, feels free to operate in conflict with law, since the House GOP lacks the cojones to stop him.
In 15,000 years the continents will not move far enough to require updating maps used in schools. In any case, by then apes will have replaced humans as the dominant species ...... ;-)
And BTW, there is ZERO science that can tell us the "correct" level of CO2 in the atmosphere.
You are talking about many millions of years in the future for the continents to move enough to affect global climate, while an ice age is likely much sooner due to other causes. There remains NO capability to know what will happen within the next few hundred jyears.
