I heartily concur with your observation that the founding fathers were a "mixed bag". I consider myself a conservative constitutionalist and find it rather puzzling that so many who claim to be of the same ilk continue to virtually canonize Al Hamilton. My beliefs and convictions are probably closer to Pat Henry and George Mason, both of whom were staunch rock-ribbed anti-federalists who loathed and abhorred the concentration and centralization of governmental power.
