The Fool Says, ‘There is no God’

"Everything cannot come from nothing." Yet that is precisely what physicist Lawrence Krauss smugly proclaimed recently on Bill Maher's program. Maher, even more smugly agreed and ridiculed Christians as simply those who promote belief in "talking snakes." Something from nothing is an even bigger "leap of faith" than belief in all omnipotent Creator of spacetime. One doesn't have to be an airhead or an ignoramus to be a fool. An intelligent fool is far more dangerous to humanity than a clueless one.

The truth is we don't know what existed before the Big Bang. It could have been another entire universe that collapsed on itself to become a tiny speck before it exploded to become the universe we know.

This pattern could have repeated many, many times. And if you can believe in an eternal god, I don't see any reason why it strains the imagination to think of time and space having ALWAYS existed in some form.

well, and that's all true Dave. We don't know. We don't even know if there WAS a big bang. It's all theory and speculation. Worlds before our own? Sure, why not? With so many unknowns, how can you be certain about this one tiny thing? That there is no God.

There is WAY more evidence of the Big Bang than evidence of a god. With the technology that exists today we can see ALMOST back to the beginning of the universe.

"There is WAY more evidence of the Big Bang than evidence of a god."

The "big bang" IS evidence of God. Just because you progs don't want to see it, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

The Bible is clearly nonsense. We can dismiss as an accurate history of who things began before we get to verse 11 of Genesis.

wow. The arrogance. 11 verse and you know without a doubt that the whole book is nonsense. Bet you sum up potential friends with the same lightning speed and insight.

I made a typo, I meant we can dismiss the bible as an accurate history of how things began by verse 11. Actually, we can dismiss it by verse 6, because there are day and night without a sun.

We can dismiss atheism before then,.

Atheism is a failed intellectual exercise

"The Bible is clearly nonsense."

Only to the willfully blind.

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” – Genesis 1:1

Be they theist or be they atheist, on this most scientists agree: In the beginning there was nothing. There was no time, space or matter. There wasn’t even emptiness, only nothingness. Well, nothing natural anyway.

And then, bang! Everything. Nonexistence became existence. Nothing became, in less than an instant, our inconceivably vast and finely tuned universe governed by what mankind would later call – after we too popped into existence from nowhere, fully armed with conscious awareness and the ability to think, communicate and observe – “natural law”...
