I have your example: a family member made wealthy on gov. contracts, grants, and loans who lives no where near his business (in a city), sent the children to very elite private schools (to avoid black-dominated miserable pub. schools, but would never admit such), and employs a full-time tax lawyer/accountant to make sure not a cent more is paid any gov. than the law allows, but pontificates all the time on how people do not pay enough taxes. When I tell him that he can pay as much as he wants to any gov., he says my argument is "specious" because his money alone would make little diff: the gov. NEEDS higher rates on all to make "a difference." The left always wants to make a difference.

What Ransom, pretty much alone, seems to have missed is that the Democrats don't have to vote for a tax hike bill. The Republicans voted for one 12 years ago (extended by a compromise for two years) and it will go into effect in January. The Democrats only plan on passing...
