Over the next 5 years, each officer must qualify and train quarterly, as well as have ammo on the shelf. Each officer needs @200 rounds per quarter to do this. SO add that up, Mr. Wizard.

DHS has been buying about 110 million rounds a year. Mostly for Border Patrol, Customs, and Coast Guard. The planning figure is 1,000/gun/year for training/qualification. The amount of small arms ammo in storage has been consistent over the years. Ammo shortages are due to civilian hoarding.

Our government says it absolutely cannot keep track of its own borders or the 12 million people who live here illegally, but, it absolutely can keep track of the purchases, transfers, and components of hundreds of millions of guns and gun owners. It’s hell bound determined to try.

It would be prudent to distrust the priorities and intentions of such a government and astute to pay attention to its inevitable idiocies.
