Great Britain, thank God and Lady Thatcher, is NOT part of the E.U. And we are well aware of our cousins' good work and support against our common enemies - and we thank you for it. But you've got to admit that many on the Left have wished that the US would go away, or at least be hamstrung. We were the Problem; so if we could be stopped, everything would be just fine. Well, be careful what you wish for: Now that we are "not the world's policeman", there is no policeman; and the bloody results speak for themselves.

Yes, the left are hostile to the US. That is because America has committed the cardinal sin of being SUCCESSFUL. Anything else could be forgiven, but not that. Just as within a country, the left hate the rich and reward the poor, so internationally they resent the successful.
