Because democrats create jobs. Republicans create wars. 28 years of republican rule = 24 million jobs. 24 years under democrats = 42 million jobs. Clinton = surplus. No wars. Bush = horrible deficit = 2 wars. Bush senior = war. Reagan = wars. So, the score so far is republicans = less jobs, and war. Democrats = more jobs - no war. Also, lets not forget that most of the 47% live in red states. Damn... facts.

There was no Clinton surplus. There was a Clinton accounting trick where some debt wasn't counted as debt.

Leading up to the 2012 election cycle, many analysts predicted Republicans would seize a Senate majority with relative ease. The math is heavily tilted in their favor: Of the 33 seats up for grabs, 23 are controlled by Democrats. The GOP needs to net four seats to guarantee control of Congress' upper chamber.
