The press will always "blame" the Republicans, loudly and frequently. But instead of trying to fight back, the Republicans go for a pre-emptive surrender. I have lost respect for the Republican establishment based on their track record. I have lost respect for Larry Kudlow based on this column. RS

How come the three commentators above understand principle and honor and the GOP leadership doesn't?

You can have principle and honor and still be intelligent enough to know what hill to die on! Nothing is going to change if we keep losing elections!

And just which hill will the GOP fight for, much less die on?

If they won't fight for me, then why should I bother with them?

Well, Holding your hands up in the air is NOT going to win ANY elections and in battle would likely get you SHOT by the enemy or your own troops.

Republicans need to save their ammo for democrats instead of sniping at each other. Yes, it was a bad deal for the taxpayer but when you only control 1/2 of one branch of the government, you really don't have much leverage. If you don't like your representation- primary him or her and get your person elected!
