Well, I do pray the Lord would bless America with enough sanity to stop going the wrong way. Lots and lots of folks are just lost. God is angry of course, but perhaps He still has pity as well, and that is why everything is not yet lost.

Maybe some should try anyhow... just for the sake of a good story.
Google might be doing this because they are progressives and/or peaceniks. Or, Google might be doing this because people have gotten ridiculously lawsuit-happy today... if something goes wrong or a crime is committed, vengeance has to be meted out no matter how remote the nexus. And that would be a way Google would keep its deep pockets out of harm's way. And yet, Google will continue to carry ads for other things that could be dangerous, like tools or cars. In fact many more people are killed by cars annually in the USA than are killed by guns. If I owned Google there would be a Google Armaments. That not being so, there are other armament marketing services. Use them wisely. Redneck

No Denying Climate Change Deniers

One thing about good science is that it will know its limits. Mankind has not even come close to being able to accurately provide an accounting of the multifarious and complex ways in which the earth can deal with thermal energy. Given this inconvenient fact, a witch doctor's ooga-booga is as likely to give us an accurate estimate of the coming decades' climate as anybody's vastly oversimplified, assumption- and guess-filled computer models.

I'd conjecture more short term problems, fewer long term ones, for those who bucked the trend.

Petty Annoyances

Williams has the privilege of watching the evolution (devolution?) of language. Surely English was not handed down with the Ten Commandments. Leave out that elliptical "am" long enough and the form of the subject changes. Entities that behave in a highly human guided manner, such as Microsoft Outlook, aren't equivalent to guns, which are pretty dumb. It is not utter nonsense to ascribe some sort of will to their actions, knowing that the will is really that of the programmer and the user. The programmer is trying, through the directions that he or she wrote and which are now being carried out at Mr. Williams' behest, to get the computer to connect to the email server. It could be put in the royal "we" sense: WE are trying. It has nothing to do with the behavior of weather, or of weapons.

Who's Racist?

ReddestNeck Wrote: Jun 03, 2014 2:21 AM
The "everybody is racist" accusation is a misguided, warped riff on the classic Christian belief in the existence of original sin (a belief that even the Old Testament affirms to the extent that "God created man upright, but men have gone after many schemes"). And so yes we're all sinners, but no we don't all sin the same.
From a classic Christian viewpoint, God only gives gifts that He expects us to do something good with.
