She resigned because Democrats & other assorted leftists made her the center of attention with their constant attacks, lies, madeup scandals, phony lawsuits, etc - and the Republican good ole boy establishment wasn't doing anything to defend her and/or counterattack - which created a situation where she couldn't effectively govern. Alaska needed an actual governor, not the object of other people's drama, so she did the honorable thing and stepped aside. Do you have a problem with that, or do you just flat-out hate her (for whatever reason) and try to find anything bad to say about her? By the way, Alaska's population is 731,449. Not as much as California, but not 500 either. I was stationed there when I was in the Army, and I didn't...
Call me cynical, but I think this is all a sham. I say this is a desperate attempt by the GOP to shake their old image problem. Filibuster or not, things are still the same and the GOP still doesn't represent me anymore (WASP male, observing Protestant (Lutheran in name only), MBA grad, lower middle class, veteran, husband & father, etc). It will be very hard to convince me this whole drama play wasn't scripted to try and bring me back into the fold - and keep me blind & quiet again. Sorry, but I'm not that easy anymore. A lot of us aren't.

Chapman, please. A target must be senior al-Qaeda? Baloney. Look up what the leaked memo says about "associated forces." It's wide-open to interpretation. Holder's "answer" is a dodge, as it only answers about whether the President has the sole authority. Of course he doesn't. The leaked memo gives that authority to a nameless, faceless, "high-level official" - allowing plausible deniability for the President. Then there's the "imminent threat" rule. Yet another term that's wide-open for abuse. Do you really trust Uncle Sam to NOT push that one beyond the limits of reason? Where are the checks & balances on that? Chapman, as a fellow Texan & Midlander also living in Chicagoland, I urge you to get a grip. You're smarter than this.
We set them up for failure, fellas: Daddy split for sex & drugs becaiuse Mommy preferred sex with her bosses, and both resented their kids for holding back their freedom. Media pushed "anything goes" values & anti-WASP dogma. Churches are full of twisted sickos working to remove male references in the Bible. Teachers teach life lessons only when they go on strike. Cops are only interested in making enough busts to get a good review. Politicians only care about self-importance, and doing whatever it takes to get 50%+1. Companies are destroyed by the clueless whims of the HR girls. The Army is more interested in unnatural social equality than winning wars. And we have the nerve to blame the kids?

Wow. Dorothy Leigh Sayers presented this in 1947? I shudder at the thought of what she would say about education today. "We who were scandalized in 1940 when men were sent to fight armored tanks with rifles, are not scandalized when young men and women are sent into the world to fight massed propaganda with a smattering of "subjects"; and when whole classes and whole nations become hypnotized by the arts of the spell binder, we have the impudence to be astonished." Hear, hear!

If you think higher education is worthless, then try living without a degree - any degree. You need that "ticket punch" to get anywhere in life nowadays. Note that education is always promoted with the idea that it leads to a good job, and therefore a nice lifestyle. Education, therefore, is not dead, but learning is. People seek higher education not to learn, but to get a degree that allows them access to an ever-decreasing quantity of jobs. As more people get degrees, more job openings will require an MBA + forklift-driving skills.
1) Democrats aren't capable of embarrassment or shame. 2) Whatever sins the prog-tard Democrats commit, they do it because conservatives made them do it.
Business interests want them here w/o worrying about paying fines or suddenly losing their workforce. But they don't want today's illegals to be tomorrow's citizens, because citizens demand things. Business interests pay for campaigns, so gov't does what they want. However, don't be surprised if, in the future, everyone becomes "American Citizens" (North America, South America, whatever) and that becomes the new standard. Sound kooky? Sure, okay...
Don't crow in victory. We're losing - big time. The left's decades-long mission of emasculating US armed forces is almost complete. They know that if they cut off the snake's head, the body will die. A weak & ineffective military devoted more to so-called "social justice" than national defense will ensure that America succumbs to any invasion. The left owns all public schools, and most private schools too. Those are the left's primary tools for indoctrination & intimidation. The left has enough rogue judges to wage unending war on common sense.
It's all identity politics. Obama won because the blacks, browns, yellows, reds, feminazis, malcontents, gays, Jews, communists, atheists, environuts & America-haters look at him & say, "He's one of us." They harbor a deep hatred for what they see as traditional WASP America, as they believe it's unjust & unsophisticated. In France (and most Euro-Socialist utopias) the socialists appeal to those who also hold onto a hatred of America and/or anything representive of traditional culture or "pro-white-Christian-males". Listen to their campaigns. If you don't vote for them then you're a lap-dog for American hegemony. They use that hate to maintain their political machines. Their victories have nothing to do with actual fiscal/monetary policy.
