Abortion and the Conscience of a Nation

Also, I must say that I place the most blame on foolish Conservatives who continually split the pro-life vote. The overwhelming majority of primary voters had voted for candidates who were 100% pro-life. The Republican party is dominated by those who are fully pro-life, but the majority doesn't know how to get their act together, I simply don't trust that in 4 years from now, we won't do the very same thing again by splitting the pro-life vote, It was unconscionable that Newt stayed in as long as he did when it was clear that the conservative front-runner was Santorum, and for people who continued to support him. I think that if Jesus Christ himself ran, then Conservatives would tear him apart for calling names and having a temper.

Rebecca, I sympathize. But if Roe v. Wade isn't overturned, how will we ever get laws against abortion at any level. Perhaps you plan to leave the country, but I want to stay in the U.S.
So you have to take the first step, the only one available. Elect Romney and hope he appoints some Supreme Court justices who will respect and abide by the Constitution. Santorum is not going to be president, so leave it in the past. If Obama is re-elected he will literally have transformed this country, as he has always intended to do. Obamacare will be implemented and become institutionalized. The Surpreme Court will be populated with the likes of Sotomayor and Kagan for generations. You'll never, ever see an end to abortion on demand.

Don't let this happen, I beg you.

Imagine for a moment that your home is invaded by thugs who will do harm to your family, or perhaps even kill them. But then one of them takes a look at your three children and offers you a sinister Faustian bargain: pick one to die and the others will be allowed to live.

Would you helplessly choose one of your own children to die so that the other two may live? Would you trust a person whose moral conscience is so far gone to even offer such a deal to live up to his end of it?
