GOP Folly

Will you amnesty people never learn? The Hispanics who are coming here illegally are natural voters for the Democrats. Look at the number who already are swilling at the public welfare trough, even though they're not even legal. The Republicans are fools for pushing for amnesty. Yes, their campaign donor industries got cheap labor, but the Foolish Party (AKA Democrat-lite Party) gave the Democrats a monopoly on national elections. You haven't made inroads with blacks to any measurable extent; what makes you think you'll do any better with Hispanics? They're not all hard-working, family-oriented model Christians, no matter how hard you try to sell it.

Yeah, we freed the slaves, passed the civil rights bill, and strive to achieve King's vision of a colorblind society and yet blacks vote 95%+ democrat. Have we ever done anything to blacks? Have we done anything at all against Asians whom FDR interned and whom are actively discriminated against by the dem's affirmative action? Does it matter for nothing that there are more elected hispanics in the republican party than the dems?

The problem is not what republicans do or don't do for or against a particular race. The problem is that no matter what we do the media fits it into the "republicans hate minorities" narrative. There may also be some cultural bias toward socialism, but at least for hispanics we used to come close to winning.

I mean seriously, even nice things we do are dismissed as "pandering." It makes me want to rip my hair out in frustration.

the nice things ARE pandering... for crissakes..

If every black woman was like Condi rice... I wouldn't have a problem with blacks.

But they ARE NOT.... and neither are Latinos like chavez....

who are we kidding?

It is not the government's business to do "nice" things. It is the government's business to protect and promote the general welfare of the CITIZENS of the United States.

The fact is, you're talking about the largest, fastest-growing minority voting bloc; and think you can win elections in our country without them.

Wake up and figure out what you've DONE to our once-honorable Grand Old Party with your dirty race prejudice. You've killed the Party!

Wrong as usual, Asians and mixed race Americans are growing faster than Hispanics. And if you turn over the USA to Mexicans, it no longer is "our country" is it bonehead.

Spoken like a true racist. Latinos are FAR more the biggest voting bloc among minorities. Eat your dumb heart out, Tim! Haha!

There may be no single, simple explanation why Mitt Romney lost the election this week -- but clearly the perception that the GOP is anti-Hispanic didn't help. For years, I've been warning my fellow conservatives that their position on immigration would be costly, not just politically but for the economy as well.

The election results definitively proved the former. The Hispanic vote was decisive in denying Romney a win in Colorado, Nevada, Florida and possibly Virginia. Without winning more Hispanic votes, the Republican Party may be doomed to permanent minority status.

Hispanics are the fastest growing population in the country....
