These same people would have called, and did call, Ronald Reagan a member of the right wing fringe. They were livid that he defeated George Bush I in the primaries in 1980. They have never been truly conservative and care no more about their grassroots members than the Democrats care about theirs.

Get used to it: Missouri Senate hopeful Todd Akin is in it for the long haul:

A defiant Rep. Todd Akin made it official today, saying once again he will not drop out of the Missouri Senate race.
