Liberals, progressives - politicians in general - don't play fair and dirty politics is normal in the U.S.
There are NOT three competing branches of government - unless you only consider the Executive and the divided congress, the Senate and the House of Representatives. The Supreme Court has so little input and only when the House or Senate screams about what the president does - but they don't do that - now we wait for Governors - that have NO access directly to the Supreme Court but must go through a litany of lower courts - even when regardless of the lower court outcomes - will have to be decided by the Supreme Court. take the so called "ObamaCare", which is actually the SenateCare (courtesy of Harry Reid) and (the House of Representatives under Pelosi) to put one forth that could pass - even then it wasn't passed but "deemed to have...

an absolutely perfect response. the other problem with the housing market - besides loaning money to people who cannot repay it - is that the moment a house became an investment instead of a home - the market was doomed. Houses are over valued as homes. the material is cheaper quality the construction is even worse, dishonesty of builders is rampant and waste is abominable. And then everyone expects to flip their home in five years and make money on it. Few ever realize the reality that a house, much like anything else, begins to deteriorate the moment it is completed. It's the roof, the carpet, the plumbing, the appliances, the cheap siding, yet everyone seems to think that a house that sold for fifty thousand is now worth...

If I had to pay six hundred a month for medical insurance, I'd be living under a bridge somewhere because that's the rent on the dump I live in.

But when you try to live forever - even though the inevitable will come. I don't want to live forever, at the moment I'm not sure I care if I don't wake up in the morning, and I just got back from the doctor who said i was healthier than almost anyone seen today. I've quit taking any and all medications, I feel better and I sleep better. More than half of what is wrong with most people are the "medications" that are put in them and that is also why the cost of health care for many older people is so high.

"Medical care for the elderly is a real problem" - no it isn't. paying for it is.

"There is not one person in 1000 in this country that can "afford" some forms of cancer. It doesn't matter what your "section of the population'' owns either." NO, but many of them can afford to buy cigarettes by the carton. What are the two most common "medical" ailments that affect ALL Americans sooner or later - eyecare, including glasses and Dental care - guess what is the least covered in insurance - eyewear and dental care - insurance covers so little that it is usually a waste of money to have the insurance.
until paying mechanics a bit more means the cost of the automobile goes up until they can't afford that. Pay raises come from somewhere and that somewhere is higher cost of goods or services, and often means increased taxes because it puts you in a higher tax bracket, or the worker now does more work because the only other way to pay one person more is to let another go (fire them) or they don't hire replacements when a worker leaves.
You'll never get it in the state of Washington until Boeing moves out - it's like asking congress to give themselves term limits - who are you kidding?
