There is a reason crazies go to schools and movie theaters and shopping malls to attack masses of people, because they don't expect anyone there to be armed and prepared to shoot back at them. The mistake that Doctor Nidal Hasan made in killing people at his workplace, a hospital, is that hospitals have security guards because they are targets for drug thieves. Courthouses and airplanes don't get attacked by people with guns because there are people with guns and metal detectors and x-ray machines that screen out insane people tryng to bring guns into those pkaces. Same thing for the White House, Congress, and the Supreme Court. Even government buildings that do not use machine screening still have armed guards.
