Costas To America: You're Just Not Smart Enough To Understand

The real cause of an ex-pro football player becoming homicidal is that our sports teams, all the way down to high school, prize aggression over fairness and morality and self-control. High school athletes abuse other students and are forgiven. College athletes abuse women and are forgiven. Pro athletes amplify their egotism with their huge salaries and are forgiven. The worst of them are time.bombs who can't control their aggression. And TV broadcasts fund this system. Costas was scapegoating guns, when COSTAS and the TV sports establishment are a major cause of out of control athletes.

It's the jock culture as it's always been...these guys get a free pass through college because they can play ball...ever hear one speak? Educated? I think not.....look at vick, anyone who can torture an animal for fun IS an animal and should have been banned forever..but his supporters including a friend of mine say "it's just a dog"...disgusting. Too much is made of these "people" because too much money is made OFF of them.

If the "jock culture" is to blame, then stop supporting professional sports. It's viewer driven... nobody is forcing anyone to watch football, baseball, hockey...

Google "jocks murder goth youth in Amarillo Texas". In Texas, high-school football is revered on a par with God and country. Many high-school athletic facilities rival what is seen in colleges and even professional sports. These Amarillo Texas high-school students tormented and eventually murdered a "goth" student by repeatedly running him over with their car. They were brought to trial. However, the football championship was the following week; subsequently, the jury ACQUITTED their star players so that they could secure the championship. Jocks are indeed held to a much lower standard of behavior . . .

I've always had a real problem with people getting hundreds of thousands of dollars to play a game we grew up playing for FUN. Indirectly,it's like hiring someone to have fun for you...
Bob Costas, just a few days after giving a cultural soliloquy during a halftime break regarding the murder/suicide of Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher, and the need to eradicate our society from guns, has managed to continue his elitist climb, claiming that the "audience" is to blame for the follow-up brouhaha about his comments.

Like a good elitist, Costas is blaming his audience.

On the Sunday broadcast between the Cowboys and the Eagles, while quoting and paraphrasing an anti-guns creed from sports writer and wannabe 2nd Amendment Bon Vivant Jason Whitlock, Costas stated (amongst other things):
