Republican Race Just Getting Started

If you are looking at intrade on a brokered convention, it dropped to about 12 % already. Puerto Rico and Illinois look to put this behind us. Also looking at intrade at Santorum to be the nominee is down to 2%. You cannot tick off an entire electorate in Puerto Rico and then blame your loss on another candidate pandering.

Mitt's Big Night and the Road Ahead

Newt and Mitt said it best when the debates began, any candidate on that platform was a far cry better than Obama. Each has strengths and like every one of each has a blemish or two. Right now the Republicans are like a kid in a well stocked candy store being told to choose just one. Which is best, peppermint sticks, Twizzlers, lemon drops, Almond Joys and on and on. The Obama appearance in Michigan on election day sold me. He begged unions to go out and fight for him. For sure he wasn't looking at anyone on the Democrat ballot like Hillary. They brought in Michael Moore too, to pander for votes to minimize Romney by voting for Santorum. Romney puts Michigan into play in the general election. The enemy of Obama is now my best friend.
The NYPD traced the call to a home in New Jersey, where they found the girl in the basement, shivering and experiencing withdrawal symptoms from a massive ecstasy dose. Doctors later said the girl might not have survived another day. Romney’s former partner credits Mitt Romney with saving his daughter’s life, saying, “It was the most amazing thing, and I’ll never forget this to the day I die.”
He established a toll-free number for tips, coordinating the effort with the NYPD, and went through his Rolodex and called everyone Bain did business with in New York, and asked them to help find his friend’s missing daughter. Romney’s accountants at Price Waterhouse Cooper put up posters on street poles, while cashiers at a pharmacy owned by Bain put fliers in the bag of every shopper. Romney and the other Bain employees scoured every part of New York and talked with everyone they could – prostitutes, drug addicts – anyone. That day, their hunt made the evening news, which featured photos of the girl and the Bain employees searching for her. As a result, a teenage boy phoned in, asked if there was a reward, and then hung up abruptly. The
What a crock! This is just a scare tactic to get a few last minute votes for Lunar Newt. What kind of man is Romney? He is a decisive problem solver. Here is a side seldom seen by the public and it is not a singular example. In July 1996, the 14-year-old daughter of Robert Gay, a partner at Bain Capital, had disappeared. She had attended a rave party in New York City and gotten high on ecstasy. Three days later, her distraught father had no idea where she was. Romney took immediate action. He closed down the entire firm and asked all 30 partners and employees to fly to New York to help find Gay’s daughter. Romney set up a command center at the LaGuardia Marriott and hired a private detective firm to assist with the search. He established a

Cain's endorsement was second in hypocrisy to that of Perry's. Perry pointed out how hard it was to trust a promise made by one who broke his vow to his wife and God, not once but twice. "A vow to God is bigger than a Texas handshake!" he proclaimed. I guess a Texas handshake and promises to wife and God really aren't that big of a deal, right Rick?

As a Tea Party guy in Missouri, I am shocked at her endorsing a Washington Insider. She waits til the only Washington outsider left (gone- Pawlenty, Perry and Cain) to give Newt a left handed endorsement to skirt Fox network policy of neutrality. It was about as artful as Newt's non lobbying at Freddie/Fannie. Now look at the company she is keeping, Cain another family man philanderer, who appears to want open marriage on the GOP platform has endorsed Newt. Cain also used to loudly proclaim that Washington could not fix Washington. Guess you were not convinced of your own argument huh, Herman.
Paul is not my first choice, but you have to give him credit for destroying Newts claim to four straight years of a balanced budget. Paul forced Newts hand over the way the books were cooked in those days and Newt admitted was bogus bookkeeping. Newt was speechless (a rarity) on this as well as when Romney turned the tables on mutual fund investments and the attack on his wealth. Santorum showed better than in past. Bad week for Newt. Last weeks home run was ruled ground rule double at best. http://www.theatlanticwire.com/politics/2012/01/gingrichs-great-debate-moment-was-bit-lie/47906/ Sabato reveals that is held today Obama vs Newt, Obama would have 303 electoral votes of the 276 needed http://www.centerforpolitics.org/crystalball/

Which GOP Candidate Should You Vote For?

Which candidate should you vote for based on your core values this should read. Which candidate can beat Obama is over riding for me. Any Repub will carry the South, only difference is margin. Electoral votes would be unchanged. National polling by multiple agencies reveal the overall electability vs Obama. While I might want the Richmond Spiders to beat LSU for the national title in football, I have to be a realist. http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/president_obama_vs_republican_candidates.html Gingrich has 50% national negative rating which says he is not electable period. No More Obama

Nice to see someone post fact and not innuendo. No candidate is perfect, but I will vote for any of the current field running against Obama. Romney vetoed a bill that would have given illegals tuition breaks which is polar opposite to what Perry did.
