Guess I'm not completely educated on the hyphenated thing . Where I come from if you were born in Italy , you were an Italian . In Greece a Greek and so on . Your kids born in the country were Australians plain and simple . Not Italian Australians or Greek Australians or any other [ /?>; ] . Australians . English is the language and that is the way it is .

The only problem is how are we going to get these clowns in Washington to get with the program . These people would be out of a job if Pork projects were stopped They were on the same playing field as their constituants . The constitution was adhered to as originally written . Hate to hear that anyone has contracted malaria . My dad sufferered from malaria from ww11. He had to take attabrin until the day he died . How anyone so knowlegable in the ways of the world could be silly enough to go anywhere in the world without the proper vaccinations is beyond me . Surely someone would have informed him of the risks . I dont like his politics but feel sorry for him because I spent a long time watching malaria eat someone up .

Coming from a family with members who have served in 7 wars from the Boer war . WW1 , WW2 Korea , Vietnam and Iraq and Afghanistan , I see that the problems with the execution of the war started in Vietnam . This was when protests bought about what we now call political correctness . Who and what an army could and could not do became the norm . I talked to my father and grandfather after I came back from Vietnam and asked them if their wars were controlled by the generals or the polititions . The answer was no , we were in it to win it . I told them of the restraints that were put on the troops in Vietnam and they both said that was the reason that war finished as it did . The problem in the country is in part due to the companies and employers . Where I come from the unions gained their power in the late 40's and early 50's. Examples are the shearers union which was to become the Australian Workers Union and the Australian builders union ..Both of these unions pushed for an 8 hour work day . Consequently the wool producers were tied to a time period which in turn resulted in them paying equal wages to the best shearers and the ones who rode the back of them . The producers were paying the best and the worst equally . Does teachers union come to mind ??? How many people have looked at the reasons that Reid is in the position he is in at the moment . His biggest problem in the last four years has been his mouth . Every time he opens it , he gets further behind the eight ball . Every time he makes a statement it is either negative towards the country and its citizens or Pro Obama . As long as he keeps talking , hopefully the more people will see through him and retire his butt in November .

I agree with you in theory except for one thing . You are right that constituants can take away the gravy train BUT . It is a fairly good gamble . If he only serves one term , he or she then goes onto one of the best and untamperable pension plans for the rest of their life . Thats a guaranteed jackpot .
