Just released today: http://www.hhs.gov/news/press/2013pres/02/20130204d.html Something Katie and TH will turn a blind eye to. Why arent these stories in the media? Reforms to Medicare regulations identified as unnecessary, obsolete, or excessively burdensome on hospitals and health care providers would save nearly $676 million annually, and $3.4 billion over five years, through a rule proposed today by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid services (CMS). The proposed rule supports President Obama’s call on federal agencies to modify, streamline regulations on business.

They talk a good game on regulation, meanwhile they regulate as if it was their fetish.

For every "reduction", new policies have been implemented that cost more to maintain and/or sustain.

If CMS really wanted to reduce costs, then it would consider implementing preventive measures to combat fraud. It could save the system over $4 billion per year. So why won't they do it? Because that's one of the primary means that allowed unlawfully present beneficiaries (i.e. illegal immigrants) to obtain services through the system. And that $4 billion amount...that was Medicare alone.

Need to make one correction...that $4 billion amount is over three years not per year.

LOL! That's roughly 0.02%! Yep, that'll fix 'er!

Gotta love progs....full of facts with no ability to interpret them!

Leacve it to progressives to not hold their politicians accountable. You'll twist and spin everything to keep your narrative going....

Scoff at a reasonable attempt top save some money as if it only ends there. Any reduction in costs is positive to most. Not to conservatives. Many pieces to puzzle that all need to be worked on. Including entitlements. At least things are being worked on.

"every little bit counts". No, sometimes a little bit is as worthless as a rounding error. BTW, the ONLY method Obamacare has for reducing costs is rationing.
traitorbill Wrote: Feb 04, 2013 2:14 PM
and half of their "facts" are lies.
traitorbill Wrote: Feb 04, 2013 2:15 PM
Just like welfare and food stamps. Talk is cheap.
traitorbill Wrote: Feb 04, 2013 2:15 PM
Meanwhile Obamacare "bends the cost curve down?"

If you thought the fiscal cliff deal, ObamaCare and the Obama payroll tax hike would be the only increase we'd see heading into President Obama's second term, think again. Even after the rich got soaked on January 1, 2013, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said it was "absolutely not" the last tax increase we'd see. President Obama hinted at the same thing and yesterday during an interview with CBS News, he said, "There is no doubt we need additional revenue."

'I don't think the issue right now is raising rates," Obama said. The goal now is to...
