OK Im a little confused. How does views on having a father in the home have to do with Ebony choosing who goes on there list of prominent blacks in America. Nothing. Im sure ebony agrees with your book. Now if you want to change your headline to magazine discrimnates against conservative blacks then the article makes sense. And to that I say..who gives a rats a ss. They can publsih whatever list they want. Im sure liberals arent mad when Alan Grayson doesnt make it on the Heritage Foundations list of influential Americans. Sour grapes from conservatives. Black or not.

The Word "Ebony" should give you a clue as to why the magazine was started, and for whom. Larry Elder is making the point that, just as with the NAACP, they are not an organization/magazine for blacks any more... they're an organization for liberals. Just as NOW is no longer an organization for women... it is an organization for liberals. It isn't he who should change the title of his article, but they who should change the title of their magazine, as the principles they espouse hurt blacks.

Leaving a Supreme court justice off the list is just plain dishonest. Was Thurgood Marshall included during his tenure?

Thurgood Marshall was also a liberal... he WAS included during his tenure. Ebony named him "the most important Black man of this century — a man who rose higher than any Black person before him and who has had more effect on Black lives than any other person, Black or White."

Are you claiming the Ebony is a Liberal magazine?

TRollish nonsense as usual

Looks like YOU are the troll here, girlie!!!

Dear Ebony,

I do not have high hopes, given the way Ebony treats black non-liberals, that you will review my new book, "Dear Father, Dear Son: Two Lives, Eight Hours." It is, in the end, about the importance of fathers -- and the damage done to a child who grows up without one.

Why do I know you will ignore my book despite its examination of the most important issue facing "black America"? Your magazine treats black conservatives as if they were the enemy, that they bring nothing valid to the discussion.

Ebony magazine, a monthly staple of American black life...
