Chicago teachers have the highest average pay scale in the USA, but the children they teach have a 40% drop-out rate, and only 6% of them go on to get a college degree, while 52% of the children they teach are below national standards in reading, math, and science. Yes, they deserve to have their pay raised, more and better benefits, and whatever may happen, not to be held accountable for the outcome of their teaching of the children that depend on them to get an education to compete with others around our country, as well as the rest of the world.

What happened to personal responsibility? I blame the parents of the students for the high dropout rate. It's not my doctors fault if I continue to smoke and get cancer...it's my fault for smoking!

Chicago Teachers Union President Karen Lewis walks, talks and barks like a rootsy Occupy Wall Street activist. But this Big Labor loudmouth who's leading the abandonment of nearly 400,000 schoolchildren in the Windy City is just another power-grabbing union fat cat.

Instead of academic excellence, she rails about "social justice." Instead of accountability, she fumes about "profits" and curses merit pay. Lewis has marched with the Occu-clowns denouncing capitalism and promoting "socialism (as) the alternative." She raves: "Occupy Wall Street and the whole concept of the 99 percent is an extraordinarily important movement."

And she earned praise as a...
