The Lessons of Tiger Woods

I find it hard to understand why everyone is so surprised by his behavior. Does he really know any better?

He comes from a background of marital betrayal. His father had a long term affair with his mother while in Viet Nam. At the same time he had a wife and four kids back in the States. He then abandoned them to marry the mistress, Tigers' mom. She knew he was married and had 4 kids but that didn't stop her.

We are all, to some extent, a product of how we were raised. Did Tiger really see anything wrong with this behavior? Surely the example he was raised under did not place a lot of value on fidelity. So why are we all surprised.
I find it interesting that you hear little in the media about this total unfunded liability. It becomes really scary when you consider that this $56 Trillion is only about $9 Trillion less than the GDP for the entire world.

Could it be reversed? Probably, but how many of us are willing to accept the pain of the change? But you can't change it without first changing those we elect to represent us. Their has been a redefinition of the job description for our members of Congress and the occupants of the White House.

They have redefined themselves as our Rulers and as such they no longer listen to us. Until we the citizens standup and take back control there is no hope of change. Our Representatives believe in their souls...

You didn't have to be a rocket scientist to see that relaxing the guidelines of qualification to the level that fogging a mirror was acceptable evidence of qualification was leading us to the precipice. But I feel you also have to put some of the blame on the people taking those mortgages.

I personally discouraged people from using ARM's and interest only type mortgages to maximize their purchasing power. But we live in a society of instant gratification so th ewarnings were rarely listened too. Our problem was that good, bad or indifferrent the buying public knew...

An Open Letter to Tiger Woods

Character is not defined by how we deal with our successes but rather how we deal with our failures or missteps.

Deal with it honestly and with integrity and the public will forgive almost anything. Hide the truth and they will relentlessly pursue it and no matter how hard you work to keep it hidden, it will come out for all to see.

If you feel that you don't have a responsibility to the people who support you and are the root of your incredible wealth, then you are making a tragic pr mistake.
