good one!!!
Is Beckel serious? He is claiming that we would be "making the same mistake as Obama" by electing Mitt Romney. Having a third candidate harks back to Ross Perot. If it weren't for Ross Perot, there would have never been a President Bill Clinton. Having a third candidate would ensure a reelection of Obama - divide and conquer. Beckel sux! I hate two-faced liberals. If anyone has his email address, please reply to this comment.

“Windmills consume thousands of acres of quality farmland, blighting the horizons worse than billboards." This statement is partially incorrect. First, they aren't windmills. They are wind turbines. One is for grinding grain, and one is for generating electricity. In Texas, the farmers out in west Texas love the wind turbines. The companies that manage the turbines rent space from the farmers to provide space for the wind turbines, and the farmers grow their crops around them. It provides the farmers with added income to the income generated by crop production.

. In west Texas, little landscape can be blighted. West Texas is uninteresting and flat. The wind turbines make the view interesting...something to talk about during the dull I-10 drive. The problem that the electric companies in Texas are running into is that the infrastructure required to move the electricity from west Texas to where it is needed has become grossly inadequate. Nobody wants new power lines crossing their property. This will stall the industry in Texas until the infrastructure issue is solved.
I wouldn't have any problems donating no strings attached to my alma mater. They give lip service to a liberal arts department and have donors watching them very closely.

We have a poor educational system because we have a combination of sucky students, illegal students, and Bleeding Heart Baby Boomers running the schools in this state. You can get a good an education in Texas if you want it. "You can lead a horse to the water, but you can't make him drink" (a Texas euphemism).

Maybe a better way to state football in Texas is that football is KING, and we don't like out-of-state colleges coming to Texas and to rape our high schools of our players. I just got asked by an out-of-state relative "What is it about Texas?". It is everything about having been our own country. Through our Texas History classes in school we are given a very distinct identity about who we are. And no...I have never met out-of-staters that have the sense of identity that we have. Most Americans have a national identity that they are embarrassed of, especially overseas.

They follow the jobs but don't realize their philosophy is what screwed up their state in the first place. If they had been thinking, they wouldn't have to leave their state in the first place. Now they are migrating to my state and will try to screw it up. Start up the printing press for the bumper stickers!!
