i think its becoming apparent (at least to me) that this guy had some sort of love/hate emotional tie to Giffords and, typical of his type with unreachable objects of "affection", attempedt to tie himself forever to the victim by mayhem or murder.

every 2 or 6 years we have that remedy in the constitution. Its briliant. What we need is to make a national issue for the elections on house rules of leadership. No back and forth committee leaderships for safe seat reps who wait out their time for the next majority. If that were the case, there would be no "safe" seats.

I don't think people understand how much the constitution creates the American culture. Its the foundation of all the joy, frustrations and expression of civility in this country. It defines our sense of justice and injustice, if not directly our sense of right and wrong. Long live the constitution, and long live its defenders.

I do think it a bit ridiculous that someone would wait for 9 hours for an ambulance - there should have been a few folks there willing to move the woman to an accessible street - I would like to see a map of the area and how far from a hospital the victims actually were.

I think its premature to demand lawsuits against the unions. However, just the fact that it could be true indicates a conflict of interest in having public employees unionized and capable/willing to do such actions. A privatized company, with employee allegiance to the company's profits, would not result in such a decision by its managers.
