In Santa Barbara County, a local law enforcement officer who was head of the local NRA said because of the type of people that go there, "anyone going into the Los Padres Forest back country without a gun is crazy".
Yo Rund, you just haven't traveled in the right "neighborhoods". Years ago when Florida first enacted their carry law, robberies against tourists skyrocketed because the bad guys knew a resident might be carrying. How did the crooks know who the tourists were: they robbed people in rental cars (most likely rented by out of staters). This clearly shows the bad guys don't want to take the chance they might get shot while plying their trade. Since this study came out, rental car companies stopped putting their companies' logos on their rental cars. The fact remains that carry laws result in less violent crime.

Yo Heren Lot of righteous indignation against the banks. How about some for guys like Corzine who was a crook as an investment banker and ruined New Jersey? How about some indignation for the Federal govt. which wastes more in a day than Dimon ever could in a lifetime? Get some perspective.

The Difference Between GM and Ford

Last year, GM sponsored a pro-government video for the Chinese government celebrating their communist beginnings. I wrote a letter of protest to the company and got a reply that basically said they didn't see anything wrong in doing it. That did it for me.

Yo Allison Those guys who attacked James Byrd got arrested, prosecuted, and put in prison, which got national attention. The media and the cops are ignoring attacks by blacks on whites and Asians. What's your point?

Yo Gazinya We went to Mombassa Kenya which has been a Muslim city since slavery and saw the caves where slaves that were captured inland were kept until the ships could transport them. What does it say about a religion who enslaves their own race to sell them to others not of their race? BTW, it was white Christians who ultimately ended slavery of all other races in Europe and the U.S.

We should adopt Mexico's immigration policy which makes it a felony to get a job there if you are not a citizen and prohibits aliens from owing property on the coast.

Yo USMC The "harsh" treatment you mention is because Americans expect assimilation of all immigrants coming into the country. Most Mexicans refuse to do so. Many don't speak English despite being here for decades and expect Americans to accommodate them by learning Spanish. That attitude is perceived as arrogant. If I were to move to Mexico, it wouldn't occur to me to expect the Mexicans to learn English. La Raza (whose motto is "for the race, everything; for others, nothing.") and other organizations, they mistakenly think the southwest belongs to Mexico and are working hard to get it back. Never mind Mexico took the Yucatan from the Mayans who also want it back.

Annfan nailed it. So few Republicans really are steeped in Conservative principles stated in the Founding documents as well as those by Locke, De Toqueville, and others. They need to take the free online course on the Constitution by Hillsdale College.
