As to your last point of not making one pay for the sins of another (reparations), that is a poor example because no one directly associated with slavery is alive and should be to accurately determine damages, whereas the children of illegals are indeed alive and are perpetuating the "crime" of violating U.S. immigration policy. It's obvious you are illegal immigration. Pity you don't put as much value on our own laws. How's this for an idea: apply the immigration policy of each country of origin of every illegal immigrant when determining their status here?

Many conservatives reject President Obama's recent policy to defer action against illegal immigrants who came to the United States as children. But as a conservative who supports the president's decision, I think it's important to seriously engage the arguments both for and against the policy.
