Do Gun Control Laws Control Guns?

But the 2nd Amendment spcifies arms - not any inanimate object. It specifically says that the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. I understand your point, but I tend to side more with the right to remain free to defend against threats to our liberty - both foreign and domestic. Today I see our primary threat to liberty to be domestic - unfortunately.

There's a reason our military uses 30-round mags and it's exactly as you explained. In combat, you need lots of ammo. People move around and even good shots will miss in combat situations. BTW: Not sure I'd be bragging about qualifying as a "Marksman." Unless things are different in the Air Force, Marksman was the lowest qualification level that was considered acceptable (Army). It ranked 3rd in the scale of badges (Marksman, Sharpshooter, Expert).

The dangers of gun free zones is not some novel idea that just suddenly popped up as a result of the Newtown massacre. Many people already recognize this and the topic has been discussed many times. Ms. Coulter simply did what she usually does. She used crystal clear logic and facts to back up and reinforce the case. I personally like her style. She pulls no punches and takes no prisoners. I didn't read Doug Giles article so I cannot compare the two articles. It is quite possible that they both decided to write an article on the same subject. Given the timing right after this obvious case of "gun free zone massacre" I expect several articles on this theme. It IS a strong case on how to avoid this tragedy in the future.

Obama's reelection confirmed that people capable of rational thought are indeed a minority in this country now. I am personally proud to be among this minority.

Wasn't the 2012 campaign the "good fight?" This bunch (the dolts who voted for "Hope and Change" and THEN fell for "Forward") need buckets of cold water on them. It may take decades of pain and suffering. The true conservatives (maybe 1/4 of the GOP) need to constantly and consistantly repeat the age old plan of building wealth and prosperity all while Rome burns. This is NOT going to be easy or quick or painless. Eventually American will heal itself.

Conservative business leaders should do their part and protect their businesses. That means layoff the deadwood. Conservative consumers need a way to find conservative businesses and patronize them and avoid liberal progressive businesses. Keep your powder dry and prepare for very hard times. Obama and the progressives will have their hand out begging the World Bank for loans. With the prospects of taking control of a hobbled USA, don't be surprised if they don't offer up more funny money to keep Obama and his ilk afloat. This is going to get serously ugly before it gets better.

We've been sinking into the Progressive slime for a century now. With enough television pretzel logic, the American people have completely swallowed that wealth should be punished and poverty rewarded - until the two meet in the middle. They think that borrowing and stealing will make their lives better. Simple minds can get caught up in this promise of utopia with enough talking heads banging it into their heads. They are beyond hope. Time to hit the RESET button. Time for a bucket of cold water to jolt these dolts out of their stupor. DO NOT RAISE THE DEBT CEILING. Yep - nuclear option. Someone with a microphone will have to explain why we need to live within our means. Cut up the credit cards and cut back on spending.

So we're going to AGAIN try to convince these morons to vote for personal responsibility, small government, low taxes? REALLY? You may as well be trying to explain differential calculus to a 3 year old - that's asleep. The only thing that will wake these braindead idiots is lots and lots of suffering. It may not happen under Obama's watch. It may take another decade of Reid and Pelosi dumping huge piles of dung on the heads of the average distracted American all the while telling them it's rose water. Eventually they will smell the dung. Continuing to try to clean off the dung faster than the Marxists can throw it is a losing battle. We can either wait for for the disaster, help the disaster, or become the disaster.
The middle class (or at least a majority of them) asked for this shiaat. Let them have it.
