Irresponsible Choices

Obama has never accomplished anything. He lies constantly and tries to cover for his numerous mistakes. Idiots like Arnold60 provide him cover while he bobs and weaves. Moronic low-information voters bought the snake oil salesman's pitch hook, line, and sinker. A nation of idiots gets what they deserve.

Congress voted and approved after seeing all the evidence. You just sound like a fool trying to blame Bush like he was some evil genius who snookered all the Democrats. Democrats couldn't stop talking about how stupid he was. Sorry Corbett but you can't have it both ways.

That's the first thing you've written that makes sense.

Thought Barry had already done that. Remember his speech in Cairo where he invited Muslim Brotherhood members? He said America was a Muslim nation. Barry is quoted as saying that the sound of Islamic call to prayers is one of the sweetest sounds he has ever heard. Giving up 5 top terrorist leaders in the Taliban for one deserter. Bowing to the King of Saudi Arabia like a servant? Barry not only seems to promote Islam - he seems to stand with the TERRORISTS.

A sad, but rare incident. Unlike the sort of situation our troops in Iraq faced after we routed their military. They either surrendered immediately or they scattered, ditched their uniforms, kept their weapons and hid as civilians. We left too many of their warriors alive and healthy.

But Islam has been transformed by the terrorist organizations that have formed and thrived since then. They have returned to their savage roots. Western civilized nations need to realize that they are once again in a kill or be killed scenario - like it or not.

I have no doubt that if Mitch McConnell had been alive in 1776 he would have been a loyalist. Mitch does what's good for Mitch and his career. He's not ready to do the kind of heavy lifting necessary to turn this economic disaster around. He's too concerned with reelection to make the kinds of tough decisions and explain why we must make some sacrifices today in order to prevent bankrupting future generations. MItch does what's good for Mitch.

Excellent! I've been saying that same thing for years! A system like this would ensure that our government truly reflected the sentiments and sensibilities of the citizenry.

The Congress are embedded into the hide of the American people much like a tick. Ticks are not reasoned with. You cannot convince a tick to leave it's host. No you must grab them each by the head, squeeze, and pull them out. It is an ugly and unpleasant thing, but it must be done if we are to survive as a nation and a civil society. Alas, the American people are too squeamish for ugly and unpleasant things, so we will remain the infected host until the irritation grows to intolerable levels.

The idea of short, reasonable term limits makes perfect sense. Of course the obvious problem is that the ruling class will not willingly surrender their high political positions they enjoy. People say we can vote them out at any time and they are correct - except that the reelection of Barack Obama proves better than any other example, that the American electorate is largely ignorant and easily manipulated. Unless and until this government (all of it) is completely removed by the American people we will remain mere surfs to our political class masters. Until out lives get much much worse than it is today, I highly doubt that average Americans will be willing to take back their government in the manner that our founding fathers expected of us.
