We have been subjected to nutty ministers from the Right saying stupid things for decades: Falwell, the Bakkers, Robertson, etc.

And no one has had a problem with that -- in fact, our last Presdient took his marching orders from that crowd.

But, let a nutty minister from the Left say equally stupid things and suddenly you people are outraged.

In my experience "p i m p"s and "w h o r e"s have had some basic sense of honesty.

Find me one Republican with that.

I believe we can divide the history of this country into two parts, both of which I have witnessed first hand:

Before the Religious Right took over partisan politics (1776 - the mid to late 1970s) and after.

No greater threat to our democracy exists than those who try to inject the public discourse with Born Again/Evangelical Christianity.

It's kinda cute to watch the GOP hoping and praying that Kagan will make one misstep.

Realax, folks on both sides. This nominee represents no threat to anyone. She is a moderate liberal who is replacing a moderate liberal.

Unless one of the Conservative block retires under Obama's watch, the court isn't going to change.

This devout Christian and proud American is celebrating the fact that we keep government and religion separate in our country.

In "My Turn," Nancy Reagan wrote that she was knocked up with Patti Davis when she and Ron got married. I guess that "Just Say No" stuff came along later.
