You've got to be kidding. The NAACP crowd, the crowd that, with no basis for it, accused the tea party folks (who include incidentally black people as well as those of all races and walks of life) a racist organization, egged on by our wonderfully post-racial (ha!) first lady, was tittering because they had had a similar change of heart?

You really have to be the most gullible, empty-brained person to put forward such an unlikely scenario.

Learn to look at the facts and use them to come to a conclusion.
I listen to Bach - a lot -, have schooled myself in a few foreign languages, and volunteer on a weekly basis.

Yet I have time to listen to FOX news as well as other news outlets and check in at Town Hall and other conservative websites.

And I must say that the conservative viewpoint wins every time. It is, as a matter of fact, the only viewpoint that makes any sense.

And, by the way, if you have even made a try at reading Breitbart's explanation of the video he ran which exposed Ms. Sherrod's past AND PRESENT racist expressions, you would recognize that he was not singling her out, but was exposing the NAACP's open tittering at the racist dialogue that was taking place. If Ms. Sherrod was talking about a change of...

Rubio vs. Crist: Substance Over Style

Oh, for Pete's sake, stop lionizing this guy Rubio with headlines like this. Yes, he's better than Crist -- but, then, almost any Republican would be. But he's no better than Martinez on the most important issue, illegal immigration, which is the one issue which, if not pushed back by the American people will destroy this country like no other one issue will. To be a "Conservative Floridian" is almost an impossibility; RINOs control it all. The only way this can be overcome is for a huge grassroots movement to take place to nominate a true conservative candidate (as is/was Bob Smith this last time around). Even the state legislature is absolutely rotten with RINOs. Despite huge outcries and repeated attempts at getting legislation...
It amazes me that people think just because Rubio isn't Crist, he's a conservative knight in shining armor. Not so.

He may be marginally more conservative than Crist on some issues, but on the most important issue in Florida, of illegal immigration, he's liberal, racistly so. Two years ago he just about single-handedly, as Speaker of the Florida House, blocked intelligently written enforcement legislation (that is, same as the wildly successful Oklahoma laws). He solicited help from his henchmen Rivera and Zapata from Miami-Dade to come to Tallhasee and throw the race card, when the people proposing the legislation couldn't have been more polite, never mentioning ethnicity or race. What a great guy!

Why was it...

Talks a good game, but 2 years ago when Rubio was Speaker of the Florida House (Speaker has wide, wide powers) he just about single-handedly blocked sane and reasonable legislation to control illegal immigration in Florida, calling in his lieutenants Zapata and Rivera from Dade to come to Tallahassee to play the race card against those who wanted the legislation.

This was good legislation, worked hard upon by many, using the legal team that wrote the Oklahoma laws (upheld by the courts) yet Rubio, despite the public burning up the telephone lines, decided not to let the legislation move forward (outside of a minor committee meeting where they buried it).

I will not vote for Rubio for anything. That experience was just too...

If the contest for Senatorial nominee is between Crist and Rubio, I will sit it out. Rubio is a lying piece of garbage -- just another racist Hispanic who loves illegal aliens.

During the period referred to in comment #33, I attended seminars by FLIMEN, and although I was not in Tallahassee I followed closely. A tremendous amount of work and effort was put into some very sane and reasonable proposed legislation, and Rubio killed it in the most disgraceful manner possible, having his henchmen from Miami come to Tallahassee to play the race card.

For me, it's not enough to be the "Anti-Crist". You have to have some integrity. Especially on illegal immigration, which is fast turning Florida into another California. ...

Possible Replacements for Sen. Mel Martinez

Go ahead and contribute to Marco Rubio if you want your dollars to support amnesty for illegals.

Read my comment at #23. Last year as Speaker, Rubio prevented good and reasonable legislation to control illegal immigration from getting to the Florida House floor.

He lied then -- what makes you think he is not lying now? He's exactly like Martinez, who was also "against amnesty for illegals". It was on his website -- then he sponsored the amnesty bill. Look for Rubio "Little Mel" to do the same.

Please -- you people who want Rubio -- do some research, will you! This guy is a clone of Martinez. A racist Hispanic who loves illegal aliens. Isn't that why we wanted to dump Martinez? Over his work for amnesty?

Go the the FLIMEN website (Floridians for illegal immigration enforcement) and scroll down to where they detail Rubio's disgusting actions (last year when he was Speaker) to derail sane and reasonable enforcement measures to control illegal immigration in Florida. He stinks to high heaven and will vote for amnesty first chance he gets.

For God's sake, please stop pushing this weasel! NO TO RUBIO!
