Shame on you for jumping on Todd Akin for his politically unwise statements, but ignoring the main point he was trying to make; his objection to taking the life of the most innocent of all involved in a rape-pregnancy, the unborn child! Why is everybody ignoring that and focusing on the side issue? (Would the rape victim have the same abhorrence for the living children of the rapist, I wonder?) The wrongness of executing the unborn child (especially when so many of those who are screaming the loudest oppose capitol punishment!) is what should be the main focus of the discussion, not the side issues. There are mechanisms that make a rape pregnancy less likely. The MSM and a bunch of other ignoramuses turned it into an absolute that the body would shut off. It is just a lower percentage.

Relying on Todd Akin's sense of decency has not worked. Within hours of his idiotic comments about "legitimate rape," Karl Rove's Crossroads GPS pulled out millions of dollars in funding for the Missouri Senate race. Akin didn't get the hint.

Reince Priebus, chairman of the Republican National Committee, withdrew all funding from the Missouri race. Akin still refused to quit.

Sen. Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, a major Christian and tea party favorite, immediately called for Akin to withdraw from the race -- nothing.
